How to unistall mamp pro5/7/2024 ![]() ![]() I'm running OS X 10.8.5 and struggling with removing MAMP (MAMP PRO) from my macOS machine. This tutorial has been helpful in learning how to uninstall MAMP PRO, but I've hit a roadblock. Despite following the instructions, I was unable to run the MAMP PRO uninstaller due to an error message. The issue arose when I tried to open the uninstaller and check all five options before clicking 'uninstall.' However, I didn't find the expected folder '/etc' which is supposed to contain the MAMP hosts backup file. Upon re-examining the directory, I still couldn't locate it. Here are the steps I took: Opened the MAMP Pro Uninstaller and checked all five options before clicking 'uninstall'.Deleted the MAMP directory from /Applications/MAMP.Tried to delete the file in /etc (the MAMP hosts backup file). ![]() Attempted to delete the Appsolute directory from /Library/Application Support, which contains configuration files created during MAMP Pro installation.Unfortunately, I received a 'privileged action failed' error message. The uninstaller program did not work as expected. I reached out to Appsolute tech support for assistance and was advised to uninstall and reinstall the new version of MAMP PRO. However, when I tried to restore the previous version, it didn't work either. To my surprise, when I attempted to start MAMP PRO recently, it refused to launch. This is particularly concerning since I've been using MAMP PRO successfully for over a year without issues.
